StARTworks is an exciting South Lanarkshire based initiative, blending employability and creative training for people over 18 who have been unemployed for more than 6 months and encourages participants to get creative whilst receiving support to boost their jobsearch skills.

Case Study 1 – Joyce Catani

Case Study 2 – Curtis Wright
“Before the course I wasn’t really doing anything, sat at home watching television. I was jobless and at that point in time homeless.
I felt that thanks to the interview techniques we did in Employability, I feel more confident to enter the interview situation.
On the filming side I learned a load of new skills when it comes to setting up and actually filming things....
Case Study 3 – Alan McLean
Alan originally studied Film at College and then went on to work in several pubs and clubs in the Glasgow area.
On the StARTworks course Alan learned effective job search techniques, interview skills, improved his CV and increased his film production skills.
Following the course Alan successfully gained a place at University of West of Scotland beginning in January 2010.
